Espy-Wilson named to NIH advisory board

Professor Carol Espy-Wilson (ECE/ISR) has been appointed to the National Advisory Board on Medical Rehabilitation Research (NABMRR). This board advises the National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research (NCMRR), part of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

NCMRR fosters the development of scientific knowledge needed to enhance the health, productively, independence, and quality-of-life of people with disabilities. It supports research on enhancing the functioning of people with disabilities in daily life, while bringing health-related problems of people with disabilities to the attention of America's best scientists and engineers. Research supported by NCMRR spans a wide range including personal motion technologies and robotics, assistive technologies, and home-based technologies in support of independent living. Many of these projects are jointly funded with other NIH institutes such as the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) and the National Institute on Aging (NIA).
