Advancing Requirements Engineering with Semantic Web Technologies.
Challenges and Trade-Offs in Design
-
Present-day search engines are capable of finding answers to searches
that cover a huge part of the web (excluding the content of databases).
There is no notion of correctness in the answers.
-
Present-day logic engines have the capability of restricting their
output to information that is known to be correct, but are currently
incapable of wandering through masses of interwined data to
construct valid answers.
The process of dealing with the combinatorial explosion of possibilities
that need to be traced is quite intractable.
A key question is: can we get the best of both worlds and apply
these techniques to a new generation of "requirements engineering" tools?
