Trip to Whistler, August 2002.

Most people think of Whistler as simply a ski resort. But, in fact, it's just as much fun in the summer!

These pictures are of Alta lake with the ski runs of Blackcomb in the background.

This picture is taken from Rainbow Park.

The Squamish Chief is approximately half way between Vancouver and Whistler. It is the second largest rock in the world. We decided to climb to the top (about 2000 ft) by walking up the trail behind the rock face.

Here's the team at the top. From left-to-right: Spencer, Nick, Yvonne and Christina.

The bottom left picture shows Howe Sound and Highway 99 down to Vancouver. The top right picture looks north to the township of Squamish and Atwell Peak (Diamond Head) in the background.

This little holiday home overlooks the bike trail along Nita lake and is owned by Australians who apparently paid Cdn $13 million for it.

Check out the hottub built into the cantilevered concrete deck and the ironwork handrail.

No wonder this house is expensive!
