Day 5 : Walbran Creek to Cribs Creek

Walbran Creek is only 22 km from the trail head, but is the halfway point in terms of time. We walked along the beach from Walbran creek to Cribs creek. This mug shot is of a rock outcrop at Bonilla Pt.

Heading out along the beach towards Carmanah Pt. It was only about 11 am and still foggy. We saw a low flying helicopter ferrying goods/people into Walbran creek by skirting along the coastline to avoid getting lost in the fog.

We had to paddle across Carmanah Creek and then put our boots back on.

All along the trail we'd heard about the hamburgers and beer you could buy at Monique's. When we arrived we found soft drinks and candies as well. We took more than an hour to eat lunch and rest, although this section of the trail was much much easier than before Walbran Creek.

Resting up at Monique's. We invited Monique to be in the picture, but when I mention putting the picture on the Internet, she declined.

At Carmanah Pt. lighthouse. We could hear the fog horn all the way from Walbran Creek.

Our campsite at Cribs Creek.

Relaxing at Cribs Creek.
