Day 4 : Camper Creek to Walbran Creek

We left Campers early in the morning and walked along the beach in the fog.

Spencer and me approaching Sandstone creek.

Dave Park at Sandstone creek.

Here we are at a surge channel. The trick is to scramble down into the surge channel and climb out the other side before the tide comes in. We actually crossed a handful of surge channels, and one case, needed to lower ourselves down into the channel by rope. At the end of the trail, we learned that someone actually drowned in one of these things.

Crossing Cullite Creek on the cable car.

Here's a section of boardwalk somewhere between Cullite Creek and Logan Creek.

Crossing the suspension bridge at Logan Creek.

Here's the start of the ladders climbing out of Logan Creek.

Climbing out of Logan Creek. I counted 63 steps on this ladder (I believe it's the longest on the trail). We decided to have lunch at the top of the ladders before moving onto attack the muddiest section of the trail.

Our campsite at Walbran Creek. Around 4pm the fog came in so the camp was a bit cold.
