Mr. Murat Aytekin is continuing his PDOC appointment with Dr. Cynthia Moss.  His research entails taking measurements and modeling the sonar beam pattern of echolocating bats.

Dr. Sharba Bandyopadhyay is continuing his ISR DOC appointment.  He is conducting research with Drs. Shihab Shamma and Patrick Kanold on a project aimed at imaging the activity and plasticity of neural responses in the auditory cortex using 2-photon imaging.

Dr. Stephen David is continuing his NRSA Fellowship/ISR PDOC appointment.  He is conducting research with Dr. Shihab Shamma on auditory computations, participating in the development of the NSL’s custom data acquisition software and physiology database, assisting with surgeries on animals, and mentoring a graduate student.

Dr. Kaushik Ghose is working with Drs. Cynthia Moss, P. S. Krishnaprasad, and Timothy Horiuchi to extract the control signals that the bat may use to orient in the environment and develop appropriate algorithms to model adaptive behaviors for spatially-guided behaviors.  He expects to conclude his PDOC appointment in April.

Dr. Gordon Gifford is continuing his appointment through Psychology. He is conducting research with Dr. Cynthia Moss on neurophysiological studies of auditory spatial information processing and sensorimotor integration.

Dr. Monther Hasouneh is continuing a part-time PDOC appointment with Dr. Eyad Abed and Dr. Balakumar Balachandran.  He is conducting research on dynamics and control of supercavitating bodies.

Dr. Chia-Yu Hsu is continuing her ISR PDOC appointment with Dr. Avis Cohen and her colleague, Dr. Lisa Fauci, Professor of Mathematics at Tulane.  She is developing computational models and simulations that couple internal force generating mechanisms of a swimming lamprey with external fluid mechanics.  Dr. Hsu is based at Tulane University.

Dr. Tao Jiang began an ISR PDOC appointment on January 2, 2008.  She is conducting research with Dr. John Baras on communications and social networking and intrusion detection.
