Energy Storage Needs workshop:
Advanced Characterization Techniques for Energy Storage
Hosted by Esther Takeuchi, Stony Brook University
m2m EFRC: Center for Mesoscale Transport Properties
Brookhaven National Laboratory, Berkner Hall, Upton, NY 11973
Participants include the Energy Storage Hub JCESR, and five energy storage focused EFRCs - CEES, FIRST, m2M, NECCES, and NEES.
This workshop will bring together energy storage experts, energy storage stakeholders, and characterization experts, providing opportunities for (1) synergistic interaction among the DOE BES-funded energy storage centers and (2) discussions and new ideas relevant to advanced characterization techniques for energy storage.
The Nanostructures for Electrical Energy Storage (NEES) will be represented by Dr. Gary Rubloff, Director, Dr. Sang Bok Lee, Deputy Director, Dr. Elizabeth Lathrop, Associate Director for Programs, and Dr. Tom Harris from CINT, Sandia NL, Albuquerque, NM. In addition to a NEES overview that features a summary of Progress, Strength, Opportunities and Resources, three technical posters examplifying expertise in thin-film ALD techniques (UMD), TEM liquid cell devices and capability (CINT, Sandia), and water-activated MnO2 nanowires for Mg ion insertion (UMD) will be presented.
