The 2005 Design for Manufacturing and the Life Cycle Conference is sponsored by the Design for Manufacturing Committee of the Design Engineering Division of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
The 2005 DFMLC Conference will be part of the ASME 2005 International Design Engineering Technical Conferences and Computers and Information In Engineering Conference. The conference will be held in Long Beach, California, from September 24-28, 2005. For more information about the general conference, see the IDETC 2005 web site.
Professor Serge Tichkiewitch, from Grenoble, France, will be the plenary speaker at the 2005 DFMLC conference. Professor Tichkiewitch will talk about the integration of environmental and life cycle issues into product development, a subject that he has been studying for many years. The plenary will be at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, September 28, 2005, in Room 305B of the Convention Center.
The conference invites authors to submit papers that describe significant research results related to design for manufacturing and life cycle impacts. Papers that describe fundamental research or cutting edge industrial practice are welcome. We encourage submissions that discuss research in the areas listed below, though papers on other topics related to DFX and design and manufacturing integration are also welcome.
Topic Areas:
The deadline for paper submission has been moved from February 14 to March 1, 2005. Authors should submit papers online at the online paper submission and conference management system. Note regarding abstracts: this system requires you to start the submission process by submitting an abstract. The abstract will be automatically accepted. After submitting the abstract, then submit your paper.
Authors are encouraged to check the call for papers of the Design Theory and Methodology Conference and the Design Automation Conference to determine which conference is most appropriate for their paper.
