Arpita Upadhyaya

Arpita Upadhyaya is Assistant Professor in IPST and the Physics Department and is a member of the Biophysics Program at the University of Maryland. Arpita received her undergraduate degree in Physics and Electrical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, India, in 1994. She entered the world of biophysics at the University of Notre Dame, where she completed her Ph.D. in Physics. She did her postdoctoral research at MIT in the Department of Physics with Alexander van Oudenaarden. From 2002-2005 she was a Pappalardo fellow. She was awarded a Sloan Research Fellowship from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation in 2008.
