Biography

Rajarshi Roy
Department of Physics
University of Maryland, College Park

Rajarshi Roy studies optical systems such as lasers and multiple light waves propagating in fibers with particular interest in their nonlinear dynamical and statistical behavior. His recent experiments have addressed questions of control and synchronization of coupled nonlinear oscillator systems. He did his doctoral research at the University of Rochester and then worked at the School of Physics, Georgia Institute of Technology. He joined the University of Maryland in the fall of 1999 and is a member of the Physics Department, the Institute for Physical Science and Technology, and the Institute for Plasma Research.
