Biography

Gregory P. Carman
MANE Department, University of California at Los Angeles

Professor Carman is an Associate Professor in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at UCLA. He received his B.S. (1985) in Engineering Sciences and Mechanics from Virginia Tech, his M.S. (1988) in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, and his Ph.D. (1991) in Engineering Mechanics from Virginia Tech. Professor Carman has held research faculty positions at the Jet Propulsion Lab and Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Professor Carman worked as a test engineer for the Department of the Army, where he supervised up to 30 personnel and was in charge of managing several projects dealing with advanced armament systems.
