Objectives The primary goal of this laboratory is to advance the state-of-the art in the design and real-time control of sophisticated servosystems such as computer controlled robotic hands, multi-degrees of freedom robotic manipulators and flexible space structures with distributed sensors. In addition to the creation of test-beds to support research in this arena, the laboratory is also engaged in the development of specialized sensory processing hardware, and distributed, object oriented software environments for the systematic exploitation of 3-D graphical animation and visualization.
