Tentative material to be covered: Chapters 1,2,3 of textbook, possibly supplemented by short handout on the Laplace transform.

 

Exam dates: #1 9/29, #2 11/8, Final 12/19

There will be reviews of the material before each exam and handouts/discussion after each exam.

 

Homework will be assigned regularly. View homework assignments here. There may be also some announced short quizzes.

 

Grading: The first two exams will be worth 100 points each. The final exam will be worth 200 points. The value of the quizzes and homework will be variable, according to their difficulty. The final grade, G, as a percentage, is computed according to the following formula

 

                            G = T/400

 

Note that the total possible points, T, exceeds 400, therefore there is a built-in extra credit policy.
